Announcement, United States

This Earth Day, Credico (USA) LLC is pleased to announce the official launch of our new Green Initiative! Many members of our team had already been taking steps toward “going green” around the office, making conscious changes like reducing their printing, eating lunches with reusable tableware, and recycling. But his new initiative solidifies our efforts into an office-wide policy with measurable goals and targets the whole team can be proud of. Our pledge is to seek continual improvement to minimize our impact on the planet.

Credico is keenly aware that environmental responsibility is of utmost importance, and our team is dedicated to promoting sustainability throughout our business operations through a series of Guiding Principles, concrete initiatives, and a Policy we can all follow. In addition, Credico will encourage third-party service providers and independent contractors to likewise adopt our Policy or develop their own, thus expanding these practices beyond our own four walls.

Seven Green Guiding Principles

We are incredibly proud of our Green Initiative Policy, which goes far beyond today’s Earth Day celebration. Our environmental commitments consist of seven Guiding Principles that fall into the following categories:

Credico’s Commitment to Energy Efficiency and Conservation

Our team will be encouraged to take advantage of the natural light coming through our wonderful south and west-facing windows rather than turning on lights, to unplug energy-draining equipment when not in use, and to turn off computers and other office equipment at the end of each workday. Office-wide, we’ll implement energy-efficient systems, appliances, and practices, conducting regular energy audits to help us identify and address inefficiencies.

Credico’s Commitment to Waste Management

Reduce, reuse, and recycle is more than just a catchphrase; it’s what we aim to do. Beyond our current initiatives encouraging employees to use digital documentation rather than printing, our shredding service also recycles. In the future, we will implement a broader, more comprehensive recycling program that includes paper, plastics, metal, and e-waste and, of course, encourage the use of reusable beverage containers, plates, and utensils.

Credico’s Commitment to Sustainable Procurement

The things we need to buy can make a difference, just like the things we do, so we’ll be favoring vendors, suppliers, and product lines that share our environmental priorities. Businesses that already demonstrate environmental responsibility will move higher on our list of potential partners, including those that reduce greenhouse gas emissions and minimize transportation – buying local helps more than just the local economy! We’ll be keeping an eye out for products that use less packaging, are reusable, and serve multiple functions, particularly those that reduce hazards to both public health and our environment.

Credico’s Commitment to Greener Transportation

Our existing commuter benefits program is just one step toward helping employees increase their use of public transportation, helping those pre-tax dollars stretch a little further. We’ll also encourage carpooling and make sure anyone who might like to try cycling to work knows about our building’s bike parking and storage space. Remote work that minimizes travel is also on our list, and we’ll be exploring the use of hybrid and/or electric vehicles for company operations.

Credico’s Commitment to Water Conservation

What we can do, we will. Although we are one tenant in a multi-story office building, we intend to reduce our water usage by using efficient fixtures and keeping up with regular maintenance. There will also be ongoing employee awareness campaigns to reinforce the importance of water conservation.

Credico’s Commitment to Environmental Education and Engagement

If you don’t know it, you can’t do it – we’ll be keeping our team aware and informed of our green efforts and initiatives by providing resources, annual training, and events to promote environmental stewardship. We’ll be organizing company-wide initiatives, such as clean-up days, tree-planting drives, and, of course, annual Earth Day activities.

Credico’s Commitment to Environmental Regulatory Compliance

Environmental rules and regulations don’t mean much unless they’re enforced, so we will be walking the walk and talking the talk. Credico will ensure its compliance with all relevant environmental laws, regulations, and standards, and additionally commit to keeping up to date with current best practices and guidelines surrounding environmental sustainability.

Credico’s Green Goals for 2025

Efforts toward our 2025 goals and targets are already underway as the Environmental Sustainability Committee continues to add new members – forming the committee itself was one of the first goals! The team has already been exploring options to reduce printing; we will be reviewing the results of a recent staff survey to inform our next steps toward downsizing our printer and paper use.

Energy conservation is a top initiative we’ve set for 2025, and we’ll examine all our devices, servers, and even our air conditioning to ensure we’re taking advantage of as many energy-saving features as possible. And in the future, we have plans for a regular “Green Tips and Tricks” segment in our internal communications, as well as a program including Green Initiative policies and tips that will be added to our annual required staff training.

Our Earth Day Commitment Continues

This initiative is set up to go far beyond any one-day celebration or recognition; Credico is committed for the long haul. Our newly formed Environmental Sustainability Committee (ESC) is headed by multiple members of leadership and welcomes all employees who are interested in promoting corporate environmental responsibility. The Policy we have pledged to follow has established measurable goals and targets for reducing our carbon footprint and promoting environmental sustainability, and an annual review is baked into the Policy to ensure its continued relevance and effectiveness. And as an additional step toward accountability, we look forward to sharing a yearly report on our environmental performance that highlights both our achievements and areas for improvement.

We are excited to see what the inaugural year of our Environmental Sustainability Committee will bring – watch this space to see our first annual green report in 2026!
